Plan Overview

Genesis Writer offers four subscription tiers designed for different stages of your writing journey. Everyone starts on the free Starter plan, which gives you a taste of the platform. When you're ready for more, three paid plans unlock the full creative toolkit.

All paid plans share the same feature set — the difference is how many tokens and how much storage you get each month. There are no feature walls between Writer, Creator, and Professional. Pick the tier that matches your writing volume.

Starter (Free)

The Starter plan is your entry point. Sign up with an email address or Google account and you immediately receive 25,000 Genesis Tokens — enough to try out AI generation, explore the editor, and write a few scenes.

This is a one-time grant. Unlike paid plans, Starter tokens never reset or refresh. Once you've used all 25,000 tokens, you'll need to subscribe to a paid plan to keep generating.

Starter Models

Starter users have access to three AI models, one from each of the budget-friendly providers:

• Grok 4.1 Fast (xAI) — quick, capable, great for rapid iteration.
• GPT-4.1 Nano (OpenAI) — lightweight and efficient for short passages.
• Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite (Google) — fast responses at minimal token cost.

Starter Limitations

The Starter plan has some restrictions beyond the token and model caps:

• 3 projects maximum — enough to try the platform, but you'll need a paid plan for serious multi-project work.
• 50 MB storage — covers basic usage, but image-heavy projects will hit this quickly.
• No AI character profiles — biography, voice, and personality generation require a paid plan.
• No character chat — talking to your characters is a subscriber feature.
• No custom portrait generation — AI portrait creation requires Writer or above.
• No custom styles or plugins — creating your own marketplace items requires a paid plan.
• No marketplace publishing — Starter users can browse and use marketplace items, but can't publish their own.

Paid Plans: Writer, Creator & Professional

All three paid plans unlock the complete Genesis Writer experience. There's no feature gating between them — every subscriber gets access to:

• All 16 AI models across Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), Google (Gemini), and xAI (Grok).
• Unlimited projects with no restrictions on structure or complexity.
• AI character profiles — biography, voice analysis, and personality generation.
• Character chat — develop your characters through AI-powered conversation.
• Custom portrait generation in five styles: Classic, Sketch, Editorial, Dramatic, and Stylized.
• Custom styles and plugins — build your own writing tools.
• Marketplace publishing — share your creations with the community.
• Beta reader sessions — get AI-powered feedback on your manuscript.

The only differences between tiers are token volume and storage capacity. Choose the tier that matches how much you write:

• Writer ($19.99/mo) — 3M tokens, 25 GB. Perfect for most authors writing a novel or two.
• Creator ($29.99/mo) — 6M tokens, 50 GB. For heavy writers, serial authors, or those who use premium models extensively.
• Professional ($49.99/mo) — 15M tokens, 125 GB. For power users, writing teams, or anyone who needs maximum capacity.

The Token Economy

Genesis Tokens are the universal currency for everything AI-powered in the platform. They provide a single, unified balance that works across all 16 AI models regardless of provider. You never need to think about provider-specific pricing.

Different models cost different amounts. Budget models (1 credit) are the cheapest, while premium models (4–5 credits) cost more per generation. The Token Economy article covers model cost tiers, image generation costs, and strategies for maximizing your tokens.

First-Time Subscriber Bonus

When you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time, Genesis Writer awards you a 25% bonus on top of your monthly token allocation. This is a one-time perk designed to give new subscribers extra room to explore.

Here's how the bonus works for each tier:

The bonus is per tier. If you subscribe to Writer and later upgrade to Creator, you receive the bonus for each tier separately. This means you can earn up to three first-time bonuses total across your Genesis Writer lifetime.
