Genesis Writer rewards two things: signing up, and bringing other writers along.
- Every first-time subscriber — whether they came through a referral link or not — receives +25% extra tokens on their first month.
- Approved affiliates earn a 20% recurring commission for the lifetime of every paid subscription they refer.
The First-Month Bonus (For Everyone)
The first time you subscribe to a paid plan, your first month includes +25% extra base tokens. This is a one-time perk that applies to every first-time subscriber, regardless of how they found us.
- Basic: 2M + 500K extra = 2.5M tokens first month
- Writer: 5M + 1.25M extra = 6.25M tokens first month
- Professional: 25M + 6.25M extra = 31.25M tokens first month
From month 2 onward, you receive your plan's standard base token allocation each billing cycle. The bonus does not stack and is not granted again if you cancel and re-subscribe to the same tier.
The Affiliate Program
The Genesis Writer affiliate program is run through Tolt. Once approved, you get a unique referral link that pays you a recurring commission on every paid subscription it generates.
- Commission rate: 20% of every payment.
- Duration: Lifetime — you keep earning as long as the subscriber stays paid.
- Attribution window: 90 days from click to signup.
- Payouts: Stripe Connect, monthly, after a 30-day hold period to cover refunds.
For example, a single Writer subscriber ($19.99/mo) earns you $4.00/mo for as long as they remain subscribed. Twenty active Writer referrals is roughly $80/month in passive income.
Finding Your Referral Link
Once the program launches and you're approved, your referral link and vanity codes will be available from your Tolt partner dashboard, along with real-time click and conversion analytics.
Sharing Your Link
You can share your affiliate link anywhere your audience hangs out:
- Blog posts, newsletters, and YouTube descriptions.
- Writing communities, NaNoWriMo groups, and author forums.
- Social media and writing Discord servers.
When someone clicks your link, an attribution cookie is set in their browser. If they sign up and subscribe within 90 days — even if they close the browser and come back later — you get credited for the referral and earn commissions for the lifetime of their subscription.
How Commissions Work
- Earn on every payment. You earn 20% of every payment your referral makes — not just the first one. Lifetime means lifetime.
- Hold period. Each commission is held for 30 days before becoming payable. This covers Genesis Writer's 3-day refund window plus a buffer for chargebacks.
- Refunds and chargebacks. If a referred user gets a refund or their payment is reversed, the corresponding commission is reversed too.
- Payouts. Earned commissions are paid out monthly via Stripe Connect. You'll need to complete Stripe's onboarding (KYC) before receiving payouts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do referred users get any extra perks?
Referred users get the same +25% first-month bonus as everyone else. The reward for referring goes to you (the affiliate) in the form of recurring commissions.
Can I refer someone who already has an account?
Affiliate attribution must happen before signup. If someone already has an account, clicking your link afterward will not retroactively credit you.
Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?
No. There's no cap on the number of referrals or the total commissions you can earn.
How long do commissions last?
For the lifetime of the subscription. As long as a referred subscriber stays paid, you keep earning your 20% on every payment.
Can I use my own affiliate link?
No. Self-referrals are detected and blocked. Your affiliate code is tied to your own account.
