What is Genesis Writer?

What Genesis Writer Does

Genesis Writer is a creative writing platform that pairs you with AI to help you write novels, short stories, and long-form fiction. It's not a tool that writes for you — it's a collaborator that writes with you.

You bring the ideas, the characters, the vision. Genesis Writer brings a rich text editor, 20+ AI models from every major provider, and a suite of creative tools that help you draft faster, develop deeper characters, and polish your prose until it shines.

Key Features

AI-Powered Writing

Select from 20+ AI models across Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), MoonshotAI (Kimi), and DeepSeek. Each model has a different personality — some are faster, some are more creative, some follow your instructions more precisely. You choose the one that fits your scene.

Ask Chat, the assistant beside your draft, to write a new scene or continue from where your draft ends — the prose arrives in the chat, ready to insert into your draft. Selection tools like Rewrite, Expand, Describe, and Polish work on highlighted text.

Living Characters

Build characters with rich profiles, AI-generated portraits, and detailed voice and personality notes. Characters stay consistent across your project because Genesis Writer feeds their personality and backstory into every AI generation.

Writing Styles

Writing Styles control how the AI writes — the vocabulary, sentence rhythm, prose density, and tone. Choose a built-in or preset style, or create your own. Styles use a multi-stage prompt pipeline, so you can make the AI mimic anything from terse Hemingway to lush Garcia Marquez.

Worldbuilding & Planning

Every project includes tools for building your story's world. Create locations, worldbuilding entries, and folders. Everything connects through a node hierarchy that gives the AI context about your story when it generates prose.

The Marketplace

The Genesis Writer Marketplace holds writing styles, plugins, and beta reader personas you can add to your workspace. If you build something great, you can publish it for other writers to find and use.

Who It's For

Genesis Writer is built for writers. Someone drafting their first book, a short-story writer building a collection, a seasoned author looking for a smarter writing environment, a NaNoWriMo participant racing the clock, and anyone who loves telling stories.

It works best when you treat the AI as a creative partner. Give it context, tell it what you want, and it'll surprise you with prose you didn't expect. The best writing happens when human creativity meets AI capability.
