Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.0 • Last Updated: May 2026

Genesis Writer is built for creative writers, and we want to keep it a safe, respectful space for everyone. This policy outlines what we consider acceptable use of the platform. The vast majority of writers will never run into any issues — these guidelines are here to address the rare exceptions.

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all Genesis Writer features, including the text editor, AI generation, character creation, writing styles, plugins, image generation, and community features. It supplements our Terms of Service.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use Genesis Writer to create, store, or distribute content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation in any jurisdiction.
  • Depicts, promotes, or facilitates the sexual exploitation of minors, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Genesis Writer has zero tolerance for this content and will report violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
  • Contains non-consensual intimate imagery of real individuals.
  • Promotes, incites, or provides instructions for terrorism, mass violence, or self-harm.
  • Constitutes harassment, credible threats, doxxing, or stalking of any individual.
  • Promotes hatred or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or other protected characteristics.
  • Contains knowingly false statements of fact presented as true with intent to harm (defamation).
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyright and trademark rights.

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Genesis Writer to:

  • Generate spam, phishing emails, scam scripts, or other deceptive communications.
  • Create disinformation, propaganda, or misleading content designed to deceive readers about its origin or factual basis.
  • Impersonate real individuals without their consent, including generating text or images that falsely represent a real person’s views or likeness.
  • Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or manipulate AI content safety systems, including “jailbreaking,” prompt injection, or role-playing scenarios designed to elicit prohibited outputs.
  • Access the Service using automated scripts, bots, crawlers, or scraping tools without prior written authorization.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service or its AI models.
  • Share, resell, sublicense, or otherwise make your account available to third parties.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, exploit free tiers, or evade enforcement actions.
  • Use AI-generated outputs from Genesis Writer to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop competing AI models or services.
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service, including denial-of-service attacks, injection of malicious code, or deliberate overloading of infrastructure.

4. Creative Writing & Mature Content

Genesis Writer is a creative writing platform. We recognize that fiction may explore difficult themes, including violence, conflict, and adult situations. Depictions of such themes in the context of legitimate creative writing (novels, short stories, screenplays) are generally permitted, provided they do not violate the prohibitions listed above—particularly regarding minors, real individuals, and content that constitutes a genuine threat or incitement. Users who enable the “mature content” setting acknowledge that they are at least 18 years old and that they take responsibility for the content they generate.

5. Content Moderation

Genesis Writer employs a combination of automated systems and human review to detect and address violations of this policy. AI safety filters are applied during content generation to prevent the most severe categories of prohibited content. We may review content that is flagged by our systems, reported by other users, or discovered during routine monitoring. We do not proactively read or review all user-generated content.

6. How We Handle Violations

We prefer to work with users to resolve issues. In most cases, we’ll start with a conversation. However, depending on the severity, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  1. Warning: A friendly heads-up that something needs to change.
  2. Content Removal: Removal of the specific content that violates this policy.
  3. Account Suspension: Temporary restriction of access to your account.
  4. Account Termination: Permanent closure of your account in serious or repeated cases.
  5. Law Enforcement Referral: For illegal activity (CSAM, credible threats, terrorism), we are legally obligated to report to the appropriate authorities.

The response depends on the nature of the violation, whether it’s a first-time or repeat occurrence, and any context. For severe violations (especially those involving harm to minors), we may act immediately.

7. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@genesiswriter.ai with the subject line “AUP Appeal.” Please include your account email and a description of why you believe the action was unwarranted. We will review appeals within 10 business days.

8. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior on Genesis Writer that you believe violates this policy, please report it to support@genesiswriter.ai with the subject line “AUP Report.” Include as much detail as possible, including the nature of the violation and any relevant identifiers. All reports are treated confidentially.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy to address new threats, regulatory changes, or evolving community standards. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Genesis Writer after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
