What are Genesis Tokens?
Genesis Tokens are your universal AI currency. Every AI writing feature—writing, polishing, chat, beta reads—draws from a single shared pool. Paid plans reset monthly with a fresh allocation. Free accounts receive 25K starting tokens as a one-time grant to try the platform. AI images are separate: they come from a monthly image allowance, not tokens.
How do AI images work?
AI images don’t use tokens. Every plan includes a monthly allowance — 1 on Free, 15 on Basic, 35 on Writer and 100 on Professional — and each portrait, scene image or style illustration uses one. Paid plans get a fresh allowance with their tokens; Free resets on the 1st of each month. If an image fails, it doesn’t count. Free uses its image on character portraits; scene images, style art and beta reader portraits come with a paid plan.
Can I change my plan?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to higher-tier features.
What happens to unused tokens?
For paid plans, unused tokens do not roll over—you get a fresh allocation every 30 days. Free accounts receive a one-time grant of 25K starting tokens; once they’re used, upgrading to a paid plan unlocks monthly token resets.
Which AI models are available?
Genesis Writer offers 20+ AI models from every major provider — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, and MoonshotAI — with new models added regularly. The free plan starts you on Claude Haiku 5.5, the Anthropic model included on every plan, and also includes GPT-6 Luna from OpenAI; any paid plan unlocks all of them, from budget models to GPT-6 Sol and Claude Opus 5. All models draw from the same token pool, with costs varying by model quality.
What can I do with Characters?
Create detailed character sheets with personality traits, backstories, and relationships, and generate AI portraits in 6 artistic styles. Characters live in the project you build them in, and the AI reads them before it writes. Character creation is free on every plan, and every plan includes AI images each month for portraits (Free: 1).
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You’ll retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer a 3-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. Requests must be made within 3 calendar days of payment, and are assessed against how much of the plan you’ve already used — a plan that has been substantially consumed may not qualify. Contact support with your account email to request one. Full conditions are in Section 4 of our Terms of Service.
What are Plugins?
Plugins are AI-powered tools that extend your writing workflow. Every user gets 9 built-in plugins for free: Tone, Rewrite, Describe, Polish, Expand, Scene Ender, Show Don’t Tell, Dialogue Polish, and Reader Reaction. Everyone — including Free — can also add plugins from the Marketplace and create their own with a guided wizard and multi-stage prompt pipelines; publishing your own to the Marketplace requires a paid plan.
What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace holds writing styles, plugins and beta readers you can add to your writer. Styles capture specific voices and genres, plugins add AI tools to the selection menu, and beta readers critique your chapters. Everyone can browse and add styles and plugins; beta readers need a paid plan. Paid plans can also publish their own styles, plugins and beta readers to the Marketplace.
